Adobe PDF Browser Control for Internet Explorer allows Adobe PDF formated files to be loaded and displayed in the web browser.

acropdf.dll is loaded as dynamic link library that runs in the context of Internet Explorer. It is marked as a Safe for Scripting ActiveX control for IE which allows it to execute scripts within the web browser which is allowed becuase the module is digitall signed. It is installed with a couple of know programs including Adobe Common File Installer published by Adobe Systems Incorporated and Adobe Reader 8.1.0 published by Adobe Systems Incorporated. The file is digitally signed by Adobe Systems which was issued by the VeriSign certificate authority (CA).
