What is AppSrv.exe?
WiMAX SDK service for Intel(R) PROSet/Wireless WiMAX Software for Intel PROSet/Wireless is used to set up, edit, and manage network profiles to connect to a network. It also includes advanced settings such as power management and channel selection for setting up ad-hoc networks. The WiFi Connection Utility lets users view the current connection details (signal quality, speed and current network name), scan for available WiFi networks and troubleshoot wireless connection problems.
Overview
appsrv.exe runs as a service under the name Intel® PROSet/Wireless WiMAX Service (WiMAXAppSrv) with extensive SYSTEM privileges (full administrator access). It is installed with a couple of know programs including Intel® PROSet/Wireless WiMAX Software published by Intel Corporation, Intel(R) PROSet/Wireless for Bluetooth(R) 3.0 + High Speed from Intel Corporation and Intel(R) PROSet/Wireless for Bluetooth(R) 3.0 + High Speed by Intel Corporation. The assembly utilizes the .NET run-time framework (which is required to be installed on the PC).
