QuickBooks Automatic Update is the software updater program which runs in the background of Windows and automatically starts up when your PC boots. It checks
for software udpates and automatically downloads and installs them if found.

qbupdate.exe executes as a process with the local user's privileges typically within the context of its parent svchost.exe (Host Process for Windows Services by Microsoft Corporation). During installation, it (or a shortcut) is added to the user's startup folder which is designed to automatically launch when the user logs into Windows. The file is digitally signed by Intuit which was issued by the VeriSign certificate authority (CA).
